ALL AGES WELCOME at S.O.S. FEST!!

in the Sooke News Mirror, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 there is a correction to be made:

The entire S.O.S. FEST is ALL AGES from 1pm to 1am. Children and Teenagers are welcome to stay and enjoy the music for the whole event including the performances at night!

S.O.S. Fest 2011!!!

A festival inspired by & in celebration of Muir Creek
At the Shirley Hall
Saturday April 23, 1pm-1am


The 5th Annual S.O.S. Fest (Save Our Salmon)...a festival inspired by and in celebration of Muir Creek; is booked!! There will be live music, workshops, dance and an eco-village of vendors with conscious, sustainable products and info.

All proceeds will go into a specific project to help protect and preserve Muir Creek, a most special place.

BANDS
Session Funk~a 7 piece band from Vancouver featuring originals & arrangements based on funky grooves
Arise~deep groovin' roots reggae & dub
Soulgoalies~original reggae, funk & groove
Waves On Monday~tasty, local flavour with weaving harmonies to soothe the soul
Ruby from The Fable Cottage~singer/songwriter from the Kootenays playing Earthy kids' tunes

DANCE
Taiya~...chakra bellydancer here to inspire the passionate goddess within

Growing food & Preserving Seeds on the West Coast with Marika Nagasaka from ALM Organic Farm & Full Circle Seeds
Yoga for Connecting to the Earth with Ahimsa Yoga & Fitness
