Seamonkeys at S.O.S Fest 2009
The S.O.S. Fest ’09 is a festival ‘inspired by and in celebration of Muir Creek.’
2009 featured 5 Live Bands and a D.J., a village of eco-oriented info booths, food and lots of local door prizes including one night free stay at the Malahat Farm west of Sooke.
All proceeds from the festival went to the Muir Creek Protection Society to support their efforts to have a park created at Muir Creek.
Musical Line-up for SOS Fest ’09
Rocky Mountain Rebel Music SOS Fest ’09 is very excited to have this 9-piece reggae-funk band from Victoria to close out the festival. Having performed at venues such as the Victoria Ska-fest, their professional sound and high energy is sure to engage.
Seamonkeys… an energetic mix of funk, punk, ska, surf, rock and reggae
4 Track Minds are an exciting new Victoria band who describe themselves as ‘Victoria’s premiere A.D.D. rockabilly band.
Holly Arntzen & Kevin Wright Holly Arntzen is Canada’s leading environmental singer and has been playing professionally since the 80’s, using art as a active response to ecological concerns. She is an environmental artist representing ecology through music. Holly and Kevin work with children in schools teaching environmentalism through music. We are extremely fortunate to have Holly & Kevin returning to the SOS Fest after their inspiring performance last year at SOS fest ’08, which included creating a song about Muir Creek with the audience on-the-spot.
